Jinnah Foundation made a humble beginning in 1989 when it took over the Rotary Club of Karachi, a community based welfare centre in Tekri Colony and started a small Primary School and Medical Centre for the residents of Tekri Village. The students at the school soon reached 50 in number and it became necessary to start a second shift. A medical clinic was also established.
In 1991-92 Jinnah Foundation decided to move to Bhitai Colony, Korangi Crossing. A plot was purchased with funds made available by the German Speaking Women Associatio (GSWA) and Infaq Foundation. A regular building was planned and constructed under the supervision of Mr. Akeel Bilgrami which housed a Primary School and Primary Medical Centre.
