Special Features
The special features at Jinnah Foundation and its work in the field of education and health which stand out with distinction are mentioned below:
- Jinnah Foundation has neither sought nor received any funding from the Provincial or Federal Government of Pakistan or from any foreign aid giving institution and we are proud of this distinction.
- We endeavour to keep our expenses as low as possible but the rising inflation has hit Jinnah Foundation like all others in Pakistan and accordingly the salaries paid to our teachers, administrative staff, security staff, maintenance staff and utility bills have all gone up substantially while the fees that we charge from the 1300 students continue to remain at a minimum level. Each student gets the benefit of paying a subsidized fee and in addition thereto approximately 300students receive education entirely free of charge or at a further substantial discount but this aspect is kept confidential and the teachers and other students in general are not aware of this facility offered by Jinnah Foundation. This results in all our students being treated equally in all respects.
- Jinnah Foundation is perhaps the only institution which provides “free” medical cover to its students and teachers and for this purpose we have a dedicated medical clinic on the premises. Inoculation against various diseases are carried out all through the year as our Medical Centre is the official vaccination centre in Bhittai Colony, Korangi. The students undergo a medical checkup every 6 months and ‘Medical Cards’ are maintained of each student.
- Jinnah Foundation has libraries for students in each school building.
- Jinnah Foundation has a computer division in each school building so that the students from the junior school to the senior school acquire basic computer related education and ability.
- Jinnah Foundation has a fully equipped physics and chemistry laboratory for the senior students.
- Jinnah Foundation has a home economics division which provides training in cooking, cutting, stitching and embroidery to the female students.
- Jinnah Foundation places emphasis on creative arts as well as performing arts.
- Jinnah Foundation regularly organizes audio-visual programmes for the students.
- Teachers are sent for training and refresher courses each year.
- Four(4) buildings of Jinnah Foundation are located in a poor under developed area called ‘Bhitai Colony’. People living in this area fall in the low/very low income group. In the midst of the broken down roads and often over flowing sewerage, Jinnah Foundation stands out like an “oasis” dedicated to improving the life and living conditions of our younger generation who will hopefully grow up and become responsible citizens of tomorrow.
Emphasis on providing basic education to the female students of Class VI to matriculation will hopefully result in educating the entire family.
