The Trustees of Jinnah Foundation have always believed that education, health and social services are the three most important building blocks of a nation and, therefore, concentrated only on these three aspects but were subject at all times to limitation on financial resources.

Mr. Sirajuddin Cassim
Chairman

Mr. Sirajuddin Cassim started as a partner in Daudally Siraj & Company, Chartered Accountants and has remained engaged in financial, investment advisory and corporate consultancy services since 1985. He was a member of the Karachi Stock Exchange and Islamabad Stock Exchange. He served on the Board of Directors of the Karachi Stock Exchange in 1990 - 91 and served as the Vice President of KSE in 1993 and as the President in 1995. He served as the Chairman of the CDC in 1995. He has also held the offices of Vice President -KSE (1993), President- KSE (1995), the Chairman CDC (1995), Vice President -Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Managers (1997 to 2000), Executive Director - Standard Chartered Mercantile Leasing Company Limited (1989-98). He has vast experience of serving as member of the Taxation & Fiscal and Banking & Fiscal sub-committees of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industries.

Mr. Liaquat H. Merchant (S.I.)
Managing Trustee

Liaquat H Merchant is a lawyer by profession who qualified in Bombay (India) and has been practicing law since 1964. He is a barrister from Gray’s Inn and has the distinction of being one of Pakistan’s reputed civil lawyers.

Liaquat Merchant is the grandson of Jinnah’s sister Mariambai who lived in Bombay. Mr Merchant was appointed as Administer of the Estate of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah by the High Court of Sindh at Karachi in 1980 and was also appointed as a Trustee of the Qauid-e-Azam Aligarh Education Trust by the same High Court in 1984. Liaquat Merchant is the Founder and Managing Trustee of the Jinnah Foundation a registered charitable trust which renders services to the poor, needy and deserving sections of society in the field of human development (health and education) as well as the Founder President of the Jinnah Society which was established by him to propagate the principals, ideals and vision of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah as a nation building exercise. Liaquat Merchant is a former Deputy Attorney General of Pakistan and has established a large number of trusts and other non-government organisations in Pakistan on which he serves as a member. Education and Health are his passion and social service takes up a large part of his time.

Liaquat Merchant has been responsible for various publications on Jinnah including Jinnah a Judicial Verdict, The Jinnah Anthology, M. A. Jinnah CD ROM Project and Quotes from the Quaid. In recognition of the services rendered by Liaquat Merchant in the field of education and health and propagation of the ideals, principals and vision of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah by his various publications and for establishing an managing various Jinnah related institutions involving public services, the President of Pakistan conferred Sitara-i-Imtiaz on him in the year 2008

Mr. Muhammad Ehsan Ibrahim
Deputy Managing Trustee

Mr Muhammad Ehsan Ibrahim is Deputy Managing Trustee of Jinnah Foundation. He is a Mechanical Engineer from the University Of California - Davis, USA. He has been associated as Managing Partner with Husnain Builders. He is a private investor. He has also been associated as Technical Director with Universal Brushwares Ltd, and Anwar Date Industries ltd, Director - Hamid Ibrahim & Co Ltd and Vice President – Karawan-E-Imdad Society since 2001till Present. He is instrumental in growing the operations of the foundation and its day-to-day management

Mr. Ali M Inayatullah
Secretary General

Mr. Ali M Inayatullah Ali has a sound background in Logistics. He is currently engaged in developing a Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) start up. Mr. Ali completed his undergraduate degree in Economics at the College of Wooster, USA and later did his MBA from the Institute of Business Administration, Karachi. He has been associated with Jinnah Foundation as a trustee since 2013 and is leading the management of Post Graduate Scholarship Committee.

Mrs. Naseem Merchant
Trustee and Treasurer

Naseem Merchant is not only an academically qualified Montessori Directress but also a Lawyer who earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Bombay and Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Karachi. She is a trained Montessori Directress and has background experience of working in a Montessori School. Naseem Merchant also worked at Liaquat Merchant Associates (LMA) for two years as an Associate in the Corporate Division.

Naseem Merchant is one of the Founder Trustees of Jinnah Foundation and has been largely instrumental in setting up the kindergarten Section at Jinnah Foundation School and later established the Montessori Section as well. She is a source of inspiration to the Teachers and the young students in the kindergarten and the Montessori sections. Naseem Merchant is dedicated to the cause of education and the welfare of women. She is a devoted Gardener and Horticulturist in her own right

Mrs. Ameena Saiyid
Trustee

Ameena Saiyid is the Secretary General of the Jinnah Society.

Upon taking over as head of OUP Pakistan in 1988, Ameena became the first woman in Pakistan to head a multi-national. She rapidly built OUP Pakistan’s educational, academic, and reference publishing programme.

In 2005, Ameena Saiyid was awarded an OBE by the British Queen for services for the promotion of Anglo-Pakistan relations, democracy, education, intellectual property rights, and women’s rights.

In April 2010, she became the first woman elected to be president of the 150-year-old Overseas Investors' Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OICCI).

In 2010, she founded and organized the annual Karachi Literature Festival, the first of its kind in Pakistan which has become a major cultural event of Pakistan. She is the co-founder of the Children’s Literature Festival of which 46 have been held in different towns and cities of Pakistan.

In 2013, she was awarded the French Knighthood, Chevalier des Arts et Lettres, (Knight of the Order of Arts and Literature) by the Government of France.

In April 2018, Ameena Saiyid was conferred the Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Star of Distinction) by the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Mr. Mamnoon Hussain for excellence and courage in the field of publishing and contribution to education in Pakistan literature.

Ameena has been commended for her services and contribution to education and publishing and her support of Pakistani literary writings through Literature Festivals of which she began a movement in Pakistan.

Mr. Mustafa Mumtaz
Trustee

Mustafa Mumtaz is a graduate of the University of Wolverhampton and is a Barrister-at-Law. He is enrolled as an Advocate and is a Member of Sindh Bar Council.

Mustafa has extensive experience in corporate and commercial laws, including mergers and acquisitions, banking and finance, regulatory compliance, dispute resolution, information technology, technology start-ups, tender process and procurement, telecommunications and media, oil and gas sectors and power projects including alternative energy IPP’s.
